Professor Becky P. Y. Loo is the Head of Geography and the Director of the Institute of Transport Studies at the University of Hong Kong. Her core research interests are transportation and e-technologies. Since she launched her academic career, Becky has received many awards, including the Outstanding Young Researcher Award, the Outstanding Teaching Award, the Most Outstanding Community Partnership Award, the Outstanding Health Promotion Project Award, the University of Oxford Fellowship, the University of Birmingham IAS Distinguished Visiting Fellowship, the Griffith University Short Term Visiting Research Fellowship, the Pegasus Medal and the CILTHK President Award. As a leading international scholar, she is sitting on assessment panels of various prestigious funding agencies both locally and abroad. With a vision to spearhead leading-edge academic research, sheis the Founding co-Editor-in-Chief of Travel Behaviour and Society. Becky is eager to contribute to the betterment of society, her current public services include serving on the Harbourfront Commission, the Lantau Development Advisory Committee, the Road Safety Council and the Transport Advisory Committee.
